Revd Dr Karl Benson
Hello, I’m Karl. I have a diverse background that spans roles such as Soldier, Scientist, Ordained Church Minister, Hospital Chaplain, and Army Chaplain. These roles have allowed me to accompany people through life’s complexities, from crises on military deployment to moments of profound spiritual questioning in healthcare settings.
I trained as a Spiritual Director and Retreat Guide at St Beuno’s Jesuit Spirituality Centre, developing skills in guiding personal reflection grounded in Ignatian traditions. This informs my approach to supervision: attentive, supportive, and tailored to each person’s journey.
I am currently studying for a diploma in Pastoral Supervision and completing the requirements for registration with the Association for Pastoral Supervision and Education (APSE), ensuring my practice meets professional standards while nurturing growth and wellbeing.
I believe in the power of one-on-one spaces where people can freely share their longings, desires, confusions, doubts, and crises of faith, without fear of judgment. I am dedicated to helping those who are motivated to help themselves—people seeking to integrate their inner lives with their outward practices for renewed purpose, wellbeing, and growth.
